Impressed with Protec's IECS systems performance on the ships reactivated for Desert Storm, MARAD awards a single source contract to design, provide and install 30 IECS system on 8 ships. Program completed within 12 months of order and proceeded to finish ahead of schedule, under budget and in spec.

Protec, working with Rubb, Inc., accomplishes the most difficult preposition project to date. Protec and Rubb team designed and installed a shipboard cocoon system that protects MSC preposition cargo, while at sea. The project set a new performance standard for maintaining specific conditions while in an extreme tropical climate.
