VCI Vaporizer V2:
Used for Metal Components
Enclosed in Small Areas |
|
|
 |
The PROTEC VCI Vaporizer V2 provides highly effective corrosion protection for metal components and parts enclosed in non ventilated control boxes, cabinets, or tool boxes up to 11 cubic feet (300 liters) in volume.
How It Works
Protec VCIs work at the molecular level by blocking the electrochemical reaction required for corrosion. The PROTEC VCI Vaporizer V2 incorporates an inert, permeable membrane that allows VCI inhibitors to slowly diffuse into an enclosure. The vaporizing unit continuously provides low doses of protective vapor into the atmosphere, which then adsorbs on all metal surfaces. The diffused vapor deposits a molecular VCI layer on internal metal surfaces --protecting critical, complex and expensive electronic equipment during operation, shipping, or storage. V2 is ideal for long term protection against corrosion --even in the presence of moisture, airborne contaminants, salt and corrosive gases such as sulfur dioxide, chlorine, ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. One installation provides up to 12 months protection.
Excellent For Electronics
V2 provides an effective inhibitor of galvanic or dissimilar metal corrosion or all metals and alloys normally found in electronics applications -- such as aluminum, copper, silver, zinc, cadmium, as well as carbon steel. Does not alter electrical resistance, magnetic, optical or thermal properties of metal substrates.
The V2 is typically installed in cabinets, control panels and other enclosures to protect electrical hardware and electronic equipment. It may also be enclosed in bags, boxes and other containers to protect parts and small equipment during storage or transit.
Recommended Applications:
Communications equipment
Control panels, junction boxes
Electrical equipment--operating and stored
Electric motors, starters, relays
Electrical wireways and conduits
Fuse and breaker boxes, power boxes
Marine navigation equipment.
Medical equipment
Spare parts
Scientific and measuring instruments
Switching equipment
Telecommunication equipment and remote electronic devices
Terminal boxes
Fast & Convenient
The PROTEC VCI Vaporizer V2 unit is self-attaching, and requires no maintenance. It provides instant corrosion protection, and is both economical and convenient. No spraying, wiping, or dipping is required. It does not interfere with electrical, optical or mechanical surface performance. It provides protection of multi-metal components, ferrous and non-ferrous. Can be used in contact with engineering plastics, elastomers and other non-metallics, and is safe for rubber, elastomers and most hard plastics. Vapor-phase inhibiting action protects inaccessible and recessed surfaces.
Non -Hazardous:
It contains no nitrite, chromate or phosphate inhibitors. Non-hazardous to personnel. Completely safe to handle. Protection for an enclosed volume of 11 cubic feet (300 cubic liters).
Application Instructions:
Preparation--Normal Light Cleaning: Remove dirt, oil, grease and loose rust according to job specifications.
Storage--Store Protec VCI Vaporizers between 0° F (l-17° C) and 120°F (49°C). Shelf life two years, minimum.
